The charming village of Findon has a good selection of local shops and an excellent post office/newsagent. It is well served with a varied selection of pubs, restaurants and hotels. The ancient Saxon church, St John the Baptist, enjoys a delightful setting to the West of the dual carriageway. Findon has a long assocation with race horses and enjoyed its greatest moment in 1981 when Aldaniti, ridden by Bob Champion, won the Grand National. Aldaniti was trained at Josh Gifford's stables in the village, which is now run by his son Nick.
